November 7, 2023 Municipal Election
The Electors of the Town of Plainfield are hereby warned to meet at their respective polling places in said town on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, for the following purposes:
To cast their votes for First Selectman, Selectman, Town Clerk (To Fill a Vacancy Two Years), Board of Finance, Board of Finance Alternate, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning, Planning and Zoning (To Fill a Vacancy for Two Years), Planning and Zoning Alternate (Full Term), Planning and Zoning Alternate (Fill Vacancy Two Years), Zoning Board of Appeals, Zoning Board of Appeals (Fill Vacancy Two Years), Police Commission.
Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling places is as follows:

001-47 and 002-44                        Town Hall 8 Community Ave. Plainfield
003-44                                            Moosup Fire House 37 S. Main St. Moosup
Election Day Registration              Town Hall 8 Community Ave. Plainfield
Voting tabulators will be used. Absentee ballots will be counted at the polling places.  The polls will be opened at six o'clock in the morning (6:00 a.m.) and will remain open until eight o'clock in the evening (8:00 p.m.).

About the Town Clerk
The Plainfield Town Clerk is elected by the voters for a four-year term and serves as the Recorder of Deeds and the Registrar of Vital Statistics. Each town clerk may appoint assistant town clerks who shall, in the absence or inability of the town clerk, have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Town Clerk.

The Plainfield Town Clerk’s Office conducts a wide range of services including, but not limited to, recording land and vital records as well as issuing an assortment of licenses and permits including Dog licenses, Sportsman’s licenses & permits, Marriage licenses, Vendor permits, Liquor permits and Trade Name certificates. The Town Clerk administers the oath of office to all elected and appointed members of local boards and commissions. All notices of all local government bodies are posted in the Clerk’s Office as well as the minutes of these meetings.
