Highway Department

The Town of Plainfield Highway Department maintains, improves, and keeps approximately 120 miles of paved roads in safe travel condition with the Town. Highway maintenance includes repairing, replacing and adding box culverts and catch basins, cleaning catch basins and waterways, brush and limb cutting, sweeping roads, maintaining guideposts, sign replacement, mowing roadside grass, patching potholes, snow removal and ice control.

The department strives to resolve residents' problems related to road and drainage both quickly and courteously. Our highway crew also picks up bagged leave clippings left at the roadside in the fall. We also assist in the maintenance of all four fire stations, the schools, the Recreation Department, both Little League Complexes and the Plainfield Industrial Park.

Bagged leaves will be picked up in the Fall. Biodegradable paper bags must be used. The Town will notify the taxpayers prior to each village's two week pick-up time.
